NERP-National Electoral Rolls purification 2016

     Election Commission of India has launched NERP (National Electoral Rolls purification 2016) on 1st March 2016 to improve the health of electoral roll i.e to improve the enrollment and remove multiple entries ,data errors by effective use of technology and to raitonalize the polling stations (PSs) boundaries and location.

Main Objectives of NERP 2016

A) Electoral roll related activities-
    1) Maximization of enrolment in 18-19 age groups
    2) Ensuring 100% coverage of epic/per
    3) Correction of Errors
    4) Removal of dead/shifted/multiple entries
    5) Ensuring good quality photographs
    6) Updation of control tables of ER database.

B) Polling station related activities
    1) Standardization of Sections
    2) To ensure that voters are not required to travel long distance(above 2kms)
    3)To identify and map alternative locations
    4) To make rough sketchmaps as aprecise PS map drawn using CAD

Electoral Rolls for all 26 Assembly constituencies of Mumbai Suburban District was published by respective EROs on 16th January 2016.

The Electoral Rolls are available for inspection at EROs office at these addresses.

NERPAP-National Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Programme

Election Commission Of India Has Launched National Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Programme on 3rd March,2015,with the prime objective of bringing a total error free,and authenticated electoral roll.

Main Activities to be done during this programme-

• Linking of EPIC with Adhaar data

• Voluntary disclosure of Multiple entries in roll

• Corrections in Roll/EPIC

• Improvement of Image quality of an Elector
• Facility to update Adhaar number and EPIC through--

                       1) NVSP

                       2) SMS

                       3) E-Mail

                       4) Mobile Application

                       5) By making a call at "1950" top state call centres

                       6) By submitting the details of Aadhar Number and EPIC number in a hard copy  of       duly filled up form along with photocopy of both the documents-EPIC,Aadhar.

• Collection/feeding of Aadhar will also be done by ERO in following ways-

                       1) BLO  throgh door to door survey

                       2) Through Camp,Voter facilitation centres,E-seva centres, Citizen Service Centres

• Nation-wide special camps by ERO on 12.04.2015

• Voluntarily Disclosure-Enrollment at more than one place : on the basis of false declaration is punishable offence under the provision of Section 31 of the Representation of the People Act,1950.The electors with multiple registration in Rolls are requested to come forward and are advised to fill form 7 for deletion of their names from plzaces except where they ordinarily reside.
